Instructions
- Cube 8 apples about 1†to 1 1/2†pieces and add to a large mixing bowl.
- Add the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and lemon juice in the mixing bowl with the apples.
- Stir to mix together.
- Add to store-bought pie crust to a pie dish and crimp the edges.
- Fill the pie with the apple mixture.
- Drizzle homemade caramel sauce on top of the apples and cubed butter in between the apples.
- Cover the pie with more pie crust. You can make a design or use cutouts
- Whisk one egg with a fork and brush the egg onto the pie crust so it turns a nice golden brown.
- Sprinkle sugar over the top.
- Bake in a 375 degree oven for 1 hour. Cover the pie crust with tin foil or parchment paper if it becomes too brown.
- Let it sit and drizzle more caramel sauce over the top!
